Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood Survey

As a resident, your feedback is vital in order to improve neighborhood development strategies in Forest Park Southeast.  Please follow this link to print and complete the Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood Survey.

All personal information you provide will remain confidential.  Group data only will be shared with city and police officials, Forest Park Southeast bike patrols, Washington University Medical Center Redevelopment Corporation, and Park Central Development.  Data will also be available to the public at the January 25, 2012 Forest Park Southeast Safety and Security meeting held at Adams Elementary School and online at Blog 17 and on this site.

Security News

Grove CID is funding security patrols for Thursday through Sunday  for the Grove District along Manchester in FPSE.

A GPS Monitoring system has been placed to keep track of patrol activity in FPSE.


FPSE Bike PatrolsThe Forest Park Southeast crime rate of January to July 2010 dropped 23% from the reported crime rate of January to July 2009 due to improved security initiatives in the area.

FPSE Bike Patrols: You may have been greeted recently by police officers on bicycles. This is a successful initiative that utilizes police officers on bikes to patrol the residential sections of Forest Park Southeast. The initiative is headed by The City's Finest, a patrol company managed by Charles Betts, St. Louis police officer, and sponsored by Washington University Medical Center. Charles Betts was 9th District Officer of the Year in 2006. The company employs officers who are familiar with the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood and who are dedicated to a continued decrease in crime. Through the initiative the officers are on patrol on average of 20-25 hours a week. The bike patrols have been very successful in reducing crime and developing a positive rapport between the police and the community. An anonymous phone line and e-mail address has been established for Forest Park Southeast: 1-877-STL-FPSE and FPSE.Bikes@gmail.com. In addition, a representative from the bike patrols are present at each monthly safety and security meeting.

FPSE Security Meetings: Neighborhood safety and security meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday on even number months at 6:30 p.m. at Adams Park Community Center, 4317 Vista Ave. The meetings are a chance for citizens interested in the progress of safety and security of Forest Park Southeast to voice their concerns. Free steering wheel locks are provided at the meeting by Washington University Medical Center.

Curfew: All boys and girls under 17 years of age must be off the streets and away from public places by 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and by midnight on Friday and Saturday. Parents of juveniles in violation of curfew ordinances are liable for fines.

Community liaison officer: The Forest Park Southeast neighborhood is very fortunate to have its own dedicated community liaison officer. Officer Roland Doty works specifically in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood to coordinate police efforts and to work with the city to target problem properties. Officer Doty tracks important neighborhood crime statistics. Officer Roland Doty assists in leading the monthly neighborhood safety and security meeting. Officer Doty’s office is located at Adams Park Community Center, 4317 Vista.
